This will be the biggest council meeting in a couple of years: they're presenting their plans to upzone Marrickville, Dulwich Hill and Ashfield to go on exhibition and we need to have as many people as possible to show there's public support for more homes in the inner west. The last two times this rezoning has been pushed the NIMBYs have shown up in force and won - we need to turn the tide and show there's broad public support.

  Sydney YIMBY gives notice of its annual general meeting to be held at Ashfield Town Hall, 260 Liverpool Rd, Ashfield on 30 November 2024 at 11:30am.  The annual general meeting will consider the following business in accordance with the constitution: confirmation of the minutes of the annual general meeting held on 12 November 2023 reports from the committee on Sydney YIMBY's activities during the previous year receiving and considering the financial report of Sydney YIMBY for the financial year ending 30 June 2024 the election of the executive and general committee members

Come to hear from council candidates from across Sydney tell us how they plan to increase housing abundance and ease the housing crisis. This will start with panel discussion moderated by a Sydney YIMBY rep, then move into Q&A from the audience. We'll be kicking off at 7:30pm sharp, with doors opening at 7pm. From August, Sydney YIMBY will be putting on a monthly informal catchup on the last Wednesday of each month for members, friends and anyone interested in the movement.  Come along to chat with members of the Sydney YIMBY committee and get to know your fellow members. Ride the metro with some friends from Sydney YIMBY!  With the metro opening on Monday, we won't be running a formal event, but if you're looking for an excuse to check it out, a few folk from Sydney YIMBY will be going for an informal ride on Saturday afternoon.  We'll meet at Chatswood, and ride to Sydenham, then go for a drink in the sun at the Marrickville Bowlo. All welcome!
